Use this when a field name or status word shows up in the UI or an API response.

Everyday hiring terms

Term	Meaning
Developer	Dashboard role that can mint API keys and manage webhooks without billing or team admin. See Team roles
Assessment	A take-home / timed test candidates open from a link
Active	Assessment status that allows invites
Invitation	One candidate’s unique link
Result	That candidate’s score and pass/fail after finishing
Pipeline	Multi-stage funnel (several assessments/interviews in a row)
Interview	Live AI, human, or hybrid session
Proctoring	Integrity signals (not an automatic fail)
Dashboard	assess.praxicraft.com/assess — no API key needed for normal hiring

API & automation terms

Term	Meaning
Public API	HTTPS API under `/api/v1/public/`
`ct_live_…`	Live organisation API key (Bearer). Starter+
`ct_test_…`	Test-mode API key. Isolated from live hiring data
Livemode	`true` = live environment, `false` = test. Set by key prefix or dashboard toggle
Scope	Permission on a key (for example `invitations:write`)
Flat JSON	Success bodies without `{ status, data }` wrapper
`invite_token`	Invitation id in API responses
Assessment slug	URL id for an assessment (UUID also works)
`whsec_…`	Webhook signing secret
`X-Praxicraft-Signature`	`sha256=<hex>` HMAC of the raw webhook body
Webhook	Assess calls your HTTPS URL when an event happens
n8n node	`@praxicraft/n8n-nodes-assess` — visual automations
MCP	Lets coding agents call Assess tools
Hosted MCP	`https://assess.praxicraft.com/mcp` with browser OAuth

Status words that confuse people

You might say	API / product value
“They finished the pipeline”	Enrollment status `passed`
“Invite not opened”	Invitation `pending`
“Paused in the funnel”	Enrollment `on_hold`

MCP OAuth note (engineers)

When using key-based MCP OAuth flows, client_id is the key prefix (first 12 characters) and client_secret is the full key. Access tokens are short-lived after auth.
